Silver Linings
Current body of work. As a cathartic painter, I have always embraced and addressed the challenges presented in both my life and my art. “Silver Linings” came to fruition when channeling my focus towards a lesson in vulnerability and the need to challenge myself as a creator. Slowly, I have been learning how to embrace the concept of vulnerability, and I feel that it fuels my passion to create. My work seeks to display a language based on the process of intuitive mark making. This language creates a surface struggling between what we do not see and that which is seen directly. It involves layering various materials, including acrylics, spray paint, oil sticks, and dry drawing materials to build up a surface with energetic marks, bold colors, and rich textures that serve as an abstract visual reference to a range of life experiences.
